This policy explains what personal data I collect when you use the Dog Sitting Manchester website, why I collect it, and what happens to it. I handle your information in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Who I am

Dog Sitting Manchester is owned and run by Melissa as a sole trader, providing day care and boarding in Manchester. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Melissa, trading as Dog Sitting Manchester. What I collect

When you submit an enquiry through the website's form, I collect the information you enter:

• Your dog's name and breed
• Whether your dog is a puppy or adult, and whether they are neutered or spayed (if you choose to tell me)
• Your name
• Your email address and/or phone number (at least one is required)
• Your preferred care type, dates needed, and any additional comments (if you provide them)

I also collect technical data automatically when you submit the form:

• Your IP address
• Your browser user-agent string

When you write to me with the website's Contact form, I collect your name, your email address and your message.

If Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled, Cloudflare may process additional technical signals to help confirm the submission is genuine. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Why I use your data

I use your enquiry data to:

• Review your dog's care needs and whether I can help
• Contact you about your enquiry
• Arrange a meet-and-greet or next steps if appropriate
• Protect the form from spam and abuse
• Keep a record of enquiries I have received

My lawful bases under UK GDPR are typically legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and running my business safely) and, where relevant, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract for dog-sitting services.

How I store and protect your data

Enquiry submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database operated as part of this website's hosting infrastructure. The form uses a hidden honeypot field, Cloudflare Turnstile (when configured), and rate limiting (up to five submissions per IP address within a 15-minute window, tracked via Cloudflare KV when available) to reduce automated abuse.

After an enquiry is stored, the website emails me a notification using Resend so I can review and respond. That email includes the enquiry details you submitted.

Messages sent with the Contact form are not stored on the website. They are delivered straight to my inbox by email through Cloudflare Email Service, with your email address as the reply address so I can answer you. The form uses the same honeypot field, Turnstile (when configured) and rate limiting as the enquiry form.

How long I keep your data

I keep enquiry data only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, follow up with you, and maintain a reasonable business record. I do not keep enquiry records indefinitely.

Who I share your data with

I do not sell your personal data. I share it only with service providers that help me run the website and handle enquiries:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, D1 database, KV rate limiting, Turnstile bot protection, and Email Service delivery of Contact form messages to me
• Resend — transactional email delivery of enquiry notifications to me

These providers process data on my behalf to deliver the services described above.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights including:

• Access to the personal data I hold about you
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure of your data in certain circumstances
• Restriction or objection to certain processing
• Data portability, where applicable
• Lodging a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
